Vauxhall's factory at Ellesmere Port is to be one of four plants in Europe that will build the new Astra.
The council's Building Control unit is responsible for ensuring building regulations are observed, dealing with dangerous structures, ensuring public safety during demolitions, and temporary grandstands.
