Message from the CHAIR...

Councillor Angela Claydon
Councillor Angela Claydon

We need your views!
As you will know, on April 1st, EPNBC will cease to be a council, and will become part of the much larger Cheshire West and Chester Council. This new authority will take control of all the council's functions, along with those of Vale Royal, Chester and Cheshire County Council.

One of the responsibilities to be token over will be council housing. As a housing committee, we in Ellesmere Port & Neston want to begin looking at all the options available for council housing, so that the new authority can be well informed.

The most important strand is to ensure that tenants understand the issues and find out what tenants think about the various ideas. We already have an active Tenants and Residents Panel and Community Housing Panel, but we feel it is really important to widen the focus, and discover the views of as many tenants as possible.

We will shortly be talking to tenants on the Community Housing Panel about recruiting an Independent Tenant Advisor (ITA) to work with tenants to ensure they have all the information they need to enable them to give their views.

Do you think you could help us? If you could spare some time to come along to a meeting, focus group, or be involved and give your views in a number of other ways we will be telling you about, particularly if you have not been involved before, we would love to hear from you. We're very friendly and you will be made very welcome.
If you could help, please ring Hazel Sweeney on 0151-356-6938, or contact Housing Services

I must stress to everybody that any changes proposed by this and the new authority could not be undertaken without full consultation with every tenant. Your tenancies will remain safe.

I do look forward to meeting you in the near future.
