As well as being a direct provider of housing in the borough, we also have a much wider strategic and enabling role, which involves the council working with others, such as registered social landlords and private house builders, to meet the housing needs and demands of the borough
All councils have to provide the Government with a Housing Strategy Statement which, sets out the housing needs and conditions of their individual boroughs and which details objectives and proposed actions to meet housing need and to improve housing conditions
