Bereavement Services - Maintenance of the Cemeteries
The Council is responsible for the maintenance of the cemetery. The maintenance standards are outlined under the appropriate heading on the web page.
You are advised that the cemetery is regularly de-littered. This includes the removal of funeral flowers, oasis structures, etc., when they become dead and unsightly. If you wish to retain oasis structures you must advise cemetery staff, otherwise they will be removed.
As part of the cemetery de-littering programme, cemetery staff will remove damaged, broken and discarded items found on all burial areas.
Traditional graves not maintained by the owner will automatically be maintained by cemetery staff. The maintenance work will include removing weeds and foliage from the grave, levelling, and turfing the complete grave space.
In order to maintain our standards, we respectfully request the co-operation of all users of the cemetery and ask visitors to place their rubbish in the baskets provided.
