Bereavement Services - Council Memorial Schemes

The council operate a number of memorial schemes, to find out more about each scheme please click on the required link below. Each page will provide details about that particular scheme, its cost and an application form.

Loan vase scheme - It is acknowledged that arrangements to erect a memorial take some time from the date of the interment. For this reason the Council can provide upon request from the grave owner a marble vase with flower holder. This service is provided free of charge and allows the grave owner the necessary time to arrange for a memorial to be chosen, authorised and installed. The vase can be positioned at the head of the grave on traditional sections, or on the concrete plinth provided on the lawned areas. The loan vase service is available to the grave owner for a maximum period of six months from the date of request. It is requested that once arrangements have been made to provide the grave with a memorial that you empty the loan vase of any flowers. Cemetery personnel will remove the loan vase after the memorial has been erected.

Cemetery Donations - Many grave owners express a desire to commemorate the memory of a loved one. The Council warmly welcomes and appreciates requests from grave owners and visiting public who wish to donate items of testament for the Cemeteries. If you would like to donate an item of testaments, please contact the Bereavement Services Manager for further information.
