Vauxhall's factory at Ellesmere Port is to be one of four plants in Europe that will build the new Astra.
The borough occupies the neck of the Wirral peninsular in Cheshire, bordering the city of Chester to the south and Vale Royal Borough to the east. To the north lies Merseyside and Wirral borough, while to the West lies Wales and the county borough of Flintshire.
